FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Who administers the treatments?

A: All treatments are administered by experienced registered nurses (RNs) serving Hamilton and the Greater Cincinnati area. Our team has 40+ years of combined nursing expertise. All nurses follow strict medical protocols and are trained in IV therapy, injections, and emergency procedures.

Q: What qualifications do your nurses have?

A: Our nurses are registered nurses with extensive healthcare experience. Our founder and owner, Brad Howard, is an RN with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and 10+ years of healthcare experience, including 10 years as a U.S. Air Force veteran. Our co-owner, Debbie Bernges, is an MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) with 30+ years of nursing experience and is pursuing her NP (Nurse Practitioner) certification.

Q: Is there medical oversight for the treatments?

A: Yes. All treatments are medically directed by a collaborating physician. Our medical director reviews all protocols, approves treatment plans, and provides telehealth oversight. This ensures all treatments are safe, appropriate, and follow strict medical standards.

Q: What safety protocols do you follow?

A: We follow strict medical protocols for all treatments:

  • ✅ Comprehensive health screening via telehealth exam

  • ✅ Sterile technique for all IV and injection administration

  • ✅ Continuous monitoring during treatments

  • ✅ Emergency protocols and rescue medications on hand

  • ✅ Adherence to all state and federal regulations

Q: What are contraindications?

A: Contraindications are medical conditions that make certain treatments unsafe or inappropriate. Common contraindications for IV therapy include: congestive heart failure, pulmonary edema, COPD, liver failure, kidney failure, certain allergies, and pregnancy beyond 13 weeks. During your telehealth exam, we screen for contraindications to ensure your safety.

Q: What if I have a medical condition that might be a contraindication?

A: During your telehealth consultation with a licensed medical provider (nurse practitioner or physician) through Guardian Medical Direction, they will review your medical history and determine if IV therapy or other treatments are safe for you. If a contraindication is identified, you will not be approved for treatment. We recommend speaking with your primary care physician about alternatives.

Q: What happens if I experience side effects during my appointment?

A: Our nurses monitor you throughout your treatment. If you experience any side effects or discomfort, inform your nurse immediately. We have emergency protocols and rescue medications on hand. Most side effects are mild and resolve quickly.

Q: What are common side effects?

A: Most treatments are well-tolerated. Some clients experience mild side effects like slight arm soreness at the IV site, flushing, a metallic taste, or temporary dizziness. Serious side effects are rare. Our nurses will discuss any concerns before your treatment.

Q: What emergency equipment do you have?

A: We maintain full emergency readiness:

  • ✅ Emergency equipment and medications on hand

  • ✅ Rescue medications for allergic reactions and other emergencies

  • ✅ Nurses trained in emergency response procedures

  • ✅ In rare serious emergencies, we contact emergency services (911) and provide appropriate first aid until help arrives

Q: Are you licensed and insured?

  • ✅ Single-use needles and equipment

  • ✅ Proper hand hygiene

  • ✅ Clean equipment and supplies

  • ✅ Your safety and health are our top priority

Q: What happens if I'm allergic to an ingredient?

A: We take allergies seriously:

  • ✅ Inform your nurse immediately if you experience an allergic reaction during your appointment

  • ✅ We have epinephrine on hand for emergency allergic reactions

  • ✅ If there's a concern, our physician will discuss alternatives with you

  • ✅ Your safety is our priority

Q: What if I have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners?

A: We screen for bleeding disorders during your telehealth exam:

  • ✅ Inform us if you have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners

  • ✅ Our physician will determine if IV therapy is safe for you

  • ✅ In most cases, treatments can still be provided with appropriate precautions

  • ✅ We'll discuss any concerns and ensure your safety

Q: What is your policy on emergency response?
